It took a while before mobile phones became portable not only in name. At one point, small size alone made a phone something special. Calling and texting were all there was and twelve buttons were nonnegotiable.
Those times seem prehistoric now that a contemporary smartphone is expected to do all but the dishes. There we are – 3.7” touch screens are now the norm. It sounds like pushing the limits of portability but most people will not mind as long as there are virtually no limits on functionality. With nearly desktop-like browsing, video and TV – displays are only supposed to get better, crisper… and bigger. Who would want it the other way? Small touchscreen does not make sense.
Now, everyone has entitled to an opinion and Sony Ericsson are keen to disagree. Small touchscreen may be against the simple logic, but dont rush to judgment yet. Not until you have seen the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini. It has more smartphone powers than most users will ever need. It is a little sweetie, and it is cool and gadgety too.
Main disadvantages
· QVGA resolution doesn’t do Android graphics justice and limits the number of compatible apps
· Battery not user replaceable
· Limited Android homescreen functionality
· No smart dialing
· Typing long messages is very hard on the small screen
· No Bluetooth file transfers from the gallery
· No Flash support for the web browser
· Very basic camera interface
Therefore, long story short, crowds probably won’t be flocking to the shops to replace their full-sized XPERIA X10 units for the mini version. The X10 mini does not have it all and isn’t the ultimate smartphone, but all is not what everyone needs.
The X10 mini is easy on your pocket – and we don’t just mean size. The phone uses less expensive hardware – low-res screen, a midrange CPU. However, if you think of it, it is not just blatant cost-cutting.
It looks like they made the right choices and in the end you don’t have to pay for something you cannot use anyway. Anything higher than QVGA would not have made much difference on a 2.55” screen (which is the most you can fit in a phone this small really). Anything faster than the 600 MHz Qualcomm CPU is simply unnecessary given the low pixel count.
SONY ERICSSON VIVAZ PRO
It is a full-featured Smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard for great messaging and 720p video recording, all in an impressively compact body.
The term “camera phone” emerged soon after pictures taken with a mobile phone began to look less like impressionist paintings and more like actual photos. Today we are at a point when 5MP are nothing to write home about.
So, this here pro is the lesser camera phone of the Vivaz pair And “camcorder phone” does sound clumsy but if competing phones are any indication, 5MP stills and 720p video is quite an exciting combo.
Main disadvantages
· Camera downgraded from 8MP on the regular Vivaz
· No camera lens protection
· The S60 5th edition UI isn't the best in usability
· No auto locking of the screen during a call
· No DivX or XviD support out-of-the-box
· No smart or voice dialing
· No secondary video calling camera
The scales are swinging both ways. A point in favor of the Vivaz pro is the mature Symbian platform. It cannot hide its age and is struggling to catch up with the best in business. However, it has been around since the dawn of time (the time of smartphones that is), which makes it well supported and very reliable.
The QWERTY keyboard, the document viewer and the ActiveSync support are real must-haves for the business crowd. High-quality photos and videos may be a teenage thing but they can help be creative with a presentation too.
Another way to look at the Vivaz pro is as a great travel companion. Posting status updates on Twitter and Facebook is a breeze thanks to the keyboard and dedicated apps. Therefore, is uploading 720p videos to YouTube. There is even voice-guided navigation included.

Touchscreen, D-pad and a full QWERTY keyboard – the Sony Ericsson Aspen is a gadget designed to put you in control. But where some will see endless possibilities of interacting with the device, others will be right to question the usability of the whole thing. Too many buttons leave little room for the display – a small and low-res touchscreen is one compromise Aspen’s users will have to be prepared to consider.
On the other hand, the Sony Ericsson Aspen runs the latest WinMo Pro version and has a fair degree of UI customization to try and offer the best user experience. The phone brings a complete set of business features and even attempts to deliver above-average media. Not least, the GreenHeart logo will perhaps serve as extra motivation for users to give the Aspen a try.

· No proximity sensor for in-call screen auto locking
· No secondary video-call camera
· Memory card slot under the battery cover

The Aspen may not be most people’s first choice of a PocketPC but it fits the bill for business. Not least because of its fairly compact size and messenger form factor. It enters a market dominated by Nokia’s Eseries and BlackBerry but seems to have enough character to set itself apart.
It also looks likely to be cheaper than the average BlackBerry and Nokia enterprise handsets. It adds touchscreen to a standard QWERTY keyboard. While this isn’t that much of an advantage in this form factor, users are at least given an extra degree of functionality. The eco-friendly vibe and the human curvature styling are some extra points in its favour.
Among other things, the Aspen is perhaps helping Sony Ericsson stay focused while waiting for WinMo 7. It also does well to bring an extra dimension to their GreenHeart line up

SONY ERICSON AINO
Top-class range of products from Sony Ericsson has an attractive design with dimensions of 104 mm x 50 mm x 15.5 mm and weighing 134 g very comfortable in the hand. To display Sony Ericsson Aino equip themselves with capacitive touchscreen TFT, 16M colors, 240 x 432 pixels, 3.0-inch, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, for this class of products is a pity Sony Ericsson Aino only provides Limited touchscreen functionality. Unfortunately thumb keyboard that is less comfortable.

For those of you who enjoy browsing on mobile phones, Sony Ericsson equip their products with HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100, Edge Class 10, 236.8 kbps, and Class 10 (4 +1 / 3 +2 slots), 32 – 48 kbps. With a 8.1 MP camera results certainly did not disappoint. This product has an internal memory of 55 MB, and supports microSD, up to 32 GB, with congenital external memory of 8 GB. For those of you who like to navigate in the city, this product is equipped with A-GPS with Wayfinder Navigator software.
For entertainment, this product deserves thumbs up. With a distinctive voice quality SonyEricsson cirri certainly will not disappoint you. Software is available on this product is MIDO java 2.0, remote play for the Playstation 3, MP3/AAC/MP4 player, Google Maps, picture editor / blogging, YouTube and Facebook applications, and SensMe.
In the meantime, these devices promise a number up to 380 h (2G) / up to 367 h (3G) for standby time, and up to 13 h (2G) / up to 4 h 30 min (3G) for talk time. Pretty good numbers considering that batteries supplied by Sony Ericsson-capacity Li-Po 1000 mAh.
The product of this range of Sony Ericsson Aino has a reliable quality. Feature packed and the performance generated by these devices will not disappoint you. Coupled with a good finishing materials from Sony Ericsson Aino, adds more value from this product. Although very Sony Ericsson Aino only include semi touchscreen and camera flash does not provide, however, this product is still worth thumb. For those of you who are looking for a mobile device with a full entertainment, this product is suitable for you.
